Jeanette Pape

Jeanette Florence Pape was born May 26, 1916, to Edward William and Florence Lou (Hupfer) Pape, at Monona, Iowa. She passed away March 28, 2007, in the Good Samaritan Center at Waukon, Iowa, at the age of 90 years.

There will be no formal services. A reception and a time of sharing in memory of Jeanette Pape will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007, any time between 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the home of Fred and Bonnie Heins, 100 W. North St., Monona, Iowa. Anyone is welcome to attend. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

She graduated from the Monona Public Schools in 1933 and Business School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Jeanette began her working career as a secretary at the Tait and Wagner Real Estate office in Cedar Rapids, where she was employed for 27 years. Jeanette also spent six years working at Hedges Associates in Cedar Rapids.

In 1971 Jeanette returned to Monona, where she and her friend, Margaret Dingman, pursued their interest in collecting antiques and displaying them in their home. Jeanette enjoyed traveling, music and sports. She had a great love of reading and read thousands of books in her lifetime.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Edward Pape, and her special friend, Margaret Dingman, who died in 1997.

Surviving are her adopted family, Fred and Bonnie Heins of Monona, Doug and Heather Heins, Jonathon and Justin of Atkins, Iowa, Brandon Heins, Andrew and Joseph, of Ankeny, Iowa, one niece, three nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be sent to the Murphy Memorial Library in Monona or the Monona Historical Society, or a charity of your choice.

The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville is in charge of arrangements.
