BROWN RITES HELD MONDAY AT ST. PETER

Burial in the Guttenberg City Cemetery

Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Monday afternoon for John W. Brown, 81. Mr. Brown died Saturday.
The services were conducted by Rev. V.G. Sorenson, pastor of St. Peter's church and burial was in the Guttenberg City cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born in December of 1881 in Jefferson Township, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Brown. He married in the year 1912 and then farmed in the Guttenberg area most of his life, leaving this area to go to Missouri fifteen years ago. He returned to Garnavillo in November of 1962.

Surviving Mr. Brown are three sons and two daughters, Roy of Steuben, Wisconsin; Veryl of Tacoma, Washington; John E. of Monona; Mrs. Elmer Fields of Abingdon, Illinois, and Mrs. George Beckett of Garnavillo. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, as well as his former wife.
