Rites Held For Former Resident

Reno, Nevada -- Mrs. Bertha Schultz Wirsching, 59, died Sunday, August 18, 1957, after a lingering illness at a hospital in Reno. She was born April 8, 1898, baptized September 18 the same year, and was confirmed March 31, 1912 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Postville.

On October 4, 1921, she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Wirsching of Castalia at the home of her parents near Postville. The couple lived at Castalia and Luana before going to Nevada about 18 years ago to live.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Wayne and Joseph E.; four grandchildren, Michael, Melanie, Randolph and Susan; her mother, Mrs. August Schultz; five brothers and five sisters. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.

Funeral services were held from the Russ-Burke Co. Chapel, Reno, on Thursday, August 22, 1957, with the Rev. Rafe Martin, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Cremation was followed at Mountain View Cemetery at Reno.
