Janet Wilke

Memorial services were held last Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church for Janet (Wirkler) Wilke who died of cancer, Sunday, Dec. 2, at her home in Ankeny.

Janet was the daughter of Edward and Carrie Wirkler. She had attended the Monona High School and was a 1948 graduate.

She had attended Cornell College and University of Northern Iowa.

She was married to Warren Wilke on May 6, 1951, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. They had one daughter.

Janet worked as bookkeeper for the Wilke Family Store, while they lived in Monona.

Her mother, Carrie Wirkler, still lives in Richland Center, WI. Her daughter. Ann Graham lives in Webster, TX.

Postville Herald newspaper clipping, hand dated 1990, from my mother's obituary collection.
