Rites Held For F. Walter
Frank Arthur Walter, son of Henry and Eva Jones Walter, was born February 24, 1888 in Clayton County, Iowa. He passed away in the Good Samaritan Home in West Union, Iowa on September 28, 1977.
He spent many years of his life in the Farmersburg area and then moved to Fort Atkinson, Iowa where he worked as a mechanic for Julius Rausch until his retirement.
He was united in marriage to Alma Kurth in 1910. There were four children born to this union: Eldo, Viola, Elma, and Alvin.
Frank was instrumental in starting the Fort Atkinson Fire Department and helped them in many ways.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alma, in 1973; three brothers, Joe, Earnest, and Earl; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Gertrude) Looby, and Mrs. Alva (Maude) Koth; one son, Eldo, and two daughters, Viola and Elma.
He leaves to remember him, his son, Alvin, of Arvada, Co.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Clara Walter of Farmersburg and Mrs. Amanda Walter of Monona; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were held at the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa on October 1, 1977; conducted by Reverend Raymond W. Pacholke of the Garden City United Methodist Church. Music was a solo, "God Will Take Care of You", by soloist Merrill Womach. Interment was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery.
