Ellen Erna Lorna Zurcher

Ellen Erna Lorna Zurcher, daughter of Albert and Frieda (Funk) Doeppke, was born Sept. 1, 1922 at Clayton Center, IA. She received her education in the country school at Clayton Center.

Ellen was united in marriage to Clarence Zurcher on Dec. 4, 1943 at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, IA. She was employed by Mississippi Valley in St. Olaf for three years. She enjoyed doing puzzles, baking, and shopping.

Ellen died Wed., Jan. 12, 2000 at Prairie Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence, who died Nov. 29, 1996; and a grandson, Randy Zurcher.

Survivors include a son, Robert (Brenda) Zurcher of Ellsworth, WI; a daughter, Rita (Gary) Pritchard of Farmersburg, IA; grandchildren, Tyrel & Erin Zurcher, Lee & Carrie Zurcher, Cory Pritchard, Lisa Pritchard, Robbie Zurcher; great grandchildren, Misty & Kayla Lenhardt, Ryan Pritchard and Dylan Gladwin; step-grandchildren, Cheryl (Rob) Supples, Cathy (Jerry) Crawford, and Melissa Pritchard; step-great grandchildren, Tabbitha, Colgon & Rose Supples, Jake Berry, Anthony Crawford, Jonathon & Joseph Pritchard; sisters, Dorothy (John) Bossard of Elkader, IA and Florence (Glenn) Bente of Postville, IA.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, IA with burial at Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Hanson officiated.

Pallbearers were Lee Zurcher, Robbie Zurcher, Bobby Bossard, Cory Pritchard, Ron Bossard, Richard Bente.
