Harry A. Hoth

Memorial service for Harry A. Hoth, 77, Garber, were held Saturday, March 23, 2002, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Centre, Iowa. Rev. Gary Hatcher officiated with inturnment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clayton Centre, Iowa. Arrangements were by Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader.

He was born April 6, 1924, in rural Elkader, Iowa, son of Edwin and Viola (Schlitzer) Hoth. He attended rural country school through the eighth grade.

He was untied in marriage to Ivanelle Doeppke on April 12, 1944, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clayton Centre. Four children were born to this union. Harry farmed in his early years and later worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation. He worked for Clayton County as a maintainer for 17 years. He died Tuesday evening, March 19, 2002, at the Guttenburg Municipal Hospital, Guttenburg.

He is survived by his wife, Ivanelle, three sons, Harry W. (Sharon) Hoth, Dubuque, Larry (Teresa) Hoth, Lake City, Minnesota, and Gary (Gloria) Hoth, Lake City, Minnesota, one daughter, Yvonne Hoth, Swisher, three brothers, Harold Hoth, Farmersburg, Dwane Hoth , Elkader, and John Hoth, Cedar Rapids, two sisters, Lunida Lundt, of Luana, and Ivanelle Henning, Decorah, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
