Evelyn Appel
Evelyn Gauper Knutson Appel was born Sept. 13, 1900, in Redmond, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. Ole Gauper.
On Sept. 5, 1948 Evelyn was united in marriage to Herman Appel in Monona. The couple moved to Chicago, Illinois. They moved to McGregor in 1966 and lived there until Herman's death in April of 1988. The last few months Evelyn had been living with her son in Chicago.
Evelyn died Friday, August 11, 1989 at her son's home in Chicago, Ill. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Herman Appel, who died April 18, 1988; one son, Paul Knutson; one step-son, Roger Appel; one brother and one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Carl Knutson, Vernon Hills, Ill., Earl Knutson, Chicago, Ill.; two step-sons, Richard Appel, White Bear Lake, Minn., Fred Appel, Chicago, Ill., 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 14, 1989 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schultz Funeral Home, Monona. Pastor Harold Ward officiated. Burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona. Pallbearers were grandsons.
Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements.
