Emma Anna Elizabeth Thompson of Monona died Sept. 21 in Dubuque. Services were Sept. 24 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona, with Pastor Harold Ward officiating.
The organist was Florence Evans. Burial was in Monona City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eugene Miller, Kent Powell, Virgil Thompson, LeRoy Thompson, Clyde Thompson, Valdean Palas and Meryle Honn. Schultz Funeral home, Monona, was in charge of the services.
She was born Nov. 8, 1899 on a farm north of Luana, the daughter of Henry and Freda Schroeder Honn.
She was baptized Dec. 3, 1899 by Rev. J. Apple in Luana and confirmed April 5, 1914 by Rev. Kuhne in Postville. She received her education in a country school north of Luana.
Aug. 19, 1938 she married Walter O. Thompson at the Lutheran Church in Monona by Rev. H. W. Seifkes. The couple lived in the Monona area. Emma worked as a telephone operator for 20 years at the Luana Monona Farmers Telephone Company.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona and Peace circle. She enjoyed quilting and belonged to the church quilting group.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Walter, who died Feb. 15, 1940; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Surviving is one sister, Laura Powell of Elkader.
