Karen L. Casey, 69, of McGregor, Iowa died Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI, following a long illness.

Funeral servies were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 28, 2006, at Bible Baptist Church in Prarie du Chien, WI, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor.

She is survived by her husband Marvin of McGregor, two daughters: Utoni (Bob) Ruff of Garnavillo, Iowa, Tahra (Carl) Ferguson, of Marquette, Iowa; six grandchildren; two step-sons: Randy Casey of Naples, FL, Robert (Karla) Casey of Traer, IA; one sister, Rena DeVries of Des Moines, Iowa; and one brother Craig Schmidt of Kellerton, Iowa.

Karen was born August 29, 1937, to Glen and Hildred Maxine (Cox) Laird in Ringgold Co., Iowa. She graduated from Kellerton High School. She married Roger Haltom, in 1959. They later divorced. Karen workd at the telephone company in Des Moines for several years. She later married Marvin Casey on March 11, 1972 in Des Moines.

They lived in Traer until moving to McGregor in 1976. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, baby sitting with her grandchildren, and camping.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Mark Haltom and a grandson Robby Casey.
