Bernard E. Petsche, 52, a retired Navy dental technician chief petty officer, died Wednesday at Fairfax Hospital after a heart attack.
His last assignment before his retirement in 1966 was with a destroyer berthed at Bainbridge, Md. He later became a salesman with the Metro Dental Supply Co. in Springfield, Va.
Mr. Petche was born in Guttenberg, Iowa. He entered the Navy in 1944 and saw duty in the Far East. He had several tours of duty at the Bethesda Naval Medical Center.
He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.
He is survived by his wife, Lola, of the home in Falls Church; a daughter, Mirtha Ramey, of Annandale; two brothers, Elwyn and Mitch, and a sister, Geraldine Christian, all of Elkader, Iowa; another sister, Laura Hawker, of Delhi, Iowa, and three grandchildren.
