Whittle - Dutka marriage - 1953

At St. Joseph's, Nov. 07, Miss Bernice Dutka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dutka of Guttenberg, became the bride of Bernell Whittle, son of Mrs. Elsie Whittle. The Rev. Cletus Hawes officiated. Mrs. Malcolm Whittle, sister-in-law of the groom, was maid of honor and Malcolm Whittle, brother of the groom was best man. Ushers were Donald Dutka of Guttenberg, brother of the bride, and Ivan Whittle, cousin of the groom.

A wedding breakfast for the wedding party was held at the home of Mrs. Elsie Whittle.

Dinner for the immediate families was at the Amvets at National, where the reception was held for about 150 guests. Mrs. Henry Thein, aunt of the bride, cut the cake, and Mrs. Earl Whittle, sister-in-law of the groom, served the cake.

Mr. Whittle returned in February from Korean service.

The new couple will live on a farm near Communia.
