Oldfather - Blacksmith marriage - 1943

OLDFATHER, BLACKSMITH

On the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 20, 1943, at the Frank Oldfather home, occurred the wedding of Lynn B. Oldfather, their eldest son, and Miss Edith Blacksmith of West Point, Iowa. They were attended by Keith and Jean Oldfather, brother and sister of the groom. Rev. Deo V. Butler, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated.

The groom has spent most of his life in this community and has recently been honorably discharged after a seven-months' service in the chemical division of the U.S. Air Corps. The bride is a graduate of the West Point high school, being valedictorian of her class.

The new couple will make their home in an apartment in Volga.
