Strawberry Point: Miss Annetta Glendola Knake, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knake, and Staff Sgt. Harold K. Meyer, son of Mrs. Ida Meyer of Elgin, were married Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. L. A. Stumme officiated. Miss Irene Skibbe was bridesmaid and Miss Gladys Hanson of Elgin, maid of honor. The groom's attendants were Earl Meyer of Des Moines and Merwyn Knake, brothers of Sgt and Mrs. Meyer. Harold Linderwell and Melbert Meyer of Elgin acted as ushers.
Mrs. Meyer graduated from the local high school in 1939, and has taught here since, in the rural schools. Sgt. Meyer graduated from the Elgin high school in 1933. He was in business in Monona before coming to Strawberry Point where he conducted a jewelry store and barber shop until his induction into the army in July, 1941.
Mrs. Meyer will continue teaching near Elgin and Sgt. Meyer will return to Camp Hale, Colo. Nov. 29.
