The marriage of Miss Ivanelle Stickfort, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arno J. Stickfort, Garnavillo, to Verdis Schlake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schlake, Farmersburg, was solemnized Wednesday, Aug. 20, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, Garnavillo. The Rev. A. Meyer officiated. Attendants were two of the brides sisters, Mrs. Stanley Schroeder as matron of honor and Miss Christine Stickfort as bridesmaid, The other bridesmaid was Mrs. Gene Yohe, cousin of the groom. Two nieces of the bride, the Misses Sharon Schroeder and Ardith Hempeler, were the flower girls. Eldean Schlake, brother of the groom, was best man, and Earl Stickfort and Keith Thoma were the ushers.
The bride graduated from the Garnavillo high school and the University of Dubuque. She taught school two years at a rural school near Guttenberg, a year at Blairstown, and two at Strawberry Point. The groom graduated from the Farmersburg high school and has been engaged in farming.
The new couple will live on the farm of the groom's father near Farmersburg.
