Geneva Bernhard and Edward Christen Were Wed By Candlelight.

Giard: Miss Geneva Bernhard and Edward Christensen were married in a candlelight service at the Giard Methodist church Friday. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. D. Butler. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bernhard of Giard. The groom's parents are Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Christensen of Garner. Miss Norma Bernhard attended the bride. and Roland Watkins, friend of the groom, was the best man. Miss Shirley Bernhard, a sister of the bride, played nuptial music and accompanied the bride's brother, John Henry, who sang two songs.

Mrs. Christensen is a graduate of Monona high school and attended the University of Iowa. Mr. Christensen was graduated from Garner high school and is a student at the University of Iowa.

(Note: Both spellings of the groom's surname, Christen/Christensen, were used in the article, as shown.)
