Dettman - Livingston marriage - 1947

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Livingston, Elkader, announce the marriage of their daughter Gloria to Donald H. Dettman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dettman of McGregor. The wedding took place at the parsonage of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Elkader, Saturday, Jan. 18, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Mrs. Allan Engelhardt attended her sister as bridesmaid, while Allan Engelhardt, brother-in-law of the bride, served as best man.

The bride is a graduate of the Elkader high school, and was employed by Stewart's Heating and Plumbing for 2 1/2 years, and for the last nine months was employed by Oelson's Ben Franklin store. The groom is a graduate of the Garnavillo high school and since has been engaged in farming on his father's farm, where the new home will be made.
