Fette - Holtz marriage - 1940

Miss Evelyn Holtz, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Holtz of Elkader, and Mr. Walter Fette, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Fette of Strawberry Point, were united in marriage Saturday, Sept. 07, at Redeemer Lutheran church in Elkader, Iowa. The Rev. E. L. Stumpfig, pastor, officiated.

Miss Margaret Fette, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Gertrude Eggin and Miss Pauline McDowell. Orville Holtz, brother of the bride, attended the groom as best man, and Mr. Wayne Gerlach and Mr. Bruno Spoerl served as ushers.

The bride is a graduate of the Elkader high school, since which time she has been a rural school teacher in Clayton county. The groom attended public school in Minnesota and at present is engaged in farming near Strawberry Point, where the new couple will be at home.
