MARRIED - At Ripon, Wis., by Rev. Wm. Morse, Dec. 9th, 1860, A. Brant, Jr., of McGregor, Iowa, and Miss Kate M. Welsh, of Derlin, Wisconsin.

Another noble example act to the fliuty hearts of McGregor bachelors. Brant saw, in the language of Scripture, that "It is not good for man to be alone," and believing that happiness is ever found in doing good, he had the courage to carry out the divine order. The lady who now honors our friend by responding to the name of "Mrs. Brant," is at home in this city, having resided here for many months prior to her removal to Derlin.

The acquaintances of the pair have overwhelmed them with congratulations, and the unmarried gents of the place look as sad when one of their number leaves their cold-blooded ranks, as though no lady was left to whom they can tie their fortunes. Courage Gentlemen!

There are "fish in the sea" yet, and you have but to use the bait of perseverance to hook them. Go straight to the house of a good girl, tell her your're nearly dead in love, and in nine cases out of ten the fair angel will pity and accept you.

We wish Mr. and Mrs. B., the realization of all the bright dreams which travelers in the morning of life usually indulge in.

~Weekly North Iowa Times, Wednesday, December 19, 1860; pg 2

Note: Derlin, Wisconsin may be Berlin, Wisconsin; the type was not very clear
