The Pioneer Rock church at Ceres, near Garnavillo, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Adel Gray, granddaughter of John Mathias Hagensick, one of the builders of the church, to Dale Carpenter of Coon Rapids. The Rev. Allan Darling, pastor of Willo Creek Church at Caledonia, Ill., officiated. They were attended by Paul McDonald of Des Moines, and Dorothy Stemm of Fort Dodge. Keith Gray, of Postville, a half-brother, gave the bride away.
Mrs. Carpenter is the daughter of Mrs. Bertha Gray of Elkader, and a sister of Captain Harold E. Gray, noted Aviator. After her high school, she was graduated from Iowa State Teachers College. The past six years she has been teaching at Monticello.
Mr. Carpenter is a son of Mrs. Grace Carpenter of Coon Rapids, Iowa, and was graduated in law from Drake University, where he was affiliated with Delta Theta Pi fraternity. He is a practicing attorney at Coon Rapids, where the young couple will live.
