Neal - Bailey marriage - 1937

At the Congregational church of Elkader occurred the marriage of Miss Meryl Bailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Bailey, to Mr. Evert Neal, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Neal of Mount Vernon, Iowa. Rev. Noyes Bartholomew officiated. Attending the couple were the bride's two sisters, Miss Marion Bailey and Mrs. Edward Burlingame, Jr., and Roland Neal, brother of the groom, and Edward Burlingame, Jr. A three-tiered wedding cake, the gift of Mrs. Neal's aunt, Mrs. Will Rankin of Maquoketa, was on the bride's table. The new couple left on a motor trip to Yellowstone Park and points in Montana where they will visit relatives, returning to Elkader after Sept. 15th.
