Rathbun - Wagner marriage - 1936

MONONA: Miss Ellen Alenta Wagner of Monona was married to Ralph Arthur Rathbun of Castalia, Tuesday, in St. Patrick's Catholic church. The pastor, the Rev. Father Luke Donlon, officiated. Cousins of the bride, Thomas and Doyle Wagner, served at mass. Miss Genevieve Bachelder was bridesmaid, and Joseph Wagner, Jr., led the party. Miss Helen Rathbun, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. Ernst Louis Ulish of Fort Dodge, cousin of the bride, carried the rings. Bernadine Lou Elliott, of Hanlonton, and Jeanne Ulish, also cousins of the bride were flower girls. Harry Bachelder was best man. R. Julian Elliott and Joseph Wagner, Jr., were the ushers. Mrs. Rathbun is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Wagner, is a graduate of the local high school and Clarke college, Dubuque. The past two years she has taught in the Castalia public schools. Mr. Rathbun graduated from Postville high school, and in one of Castalia's business men. The new home will be made at Castalia.
