MARRIED - At McGregor, Monday morning at 6 o'clock, by Rev. Mr. Radcliffe of Prairie du Chien, John F. Wright, Esq. of the American Hotel, to Miss Clara Safford, youngest daughter of Mrs. Pool, all of this city.
We had the happiness, by invitation of seeing out young friends fairly launched on the sea of Matrimony. Many of those present were young gents and ladies, to whom the marriage ceremony was deeply suggestive. John passed through the ordeal with the nerve of a veteran and the expressive eye of the bride trembled not as she solemnly vowed to leave all the friends of her youth - to be Wright!
After the union congratulations were in order, and these, both verbal and labial, mixed with a slight indulgence in sparkling wine (we own to a weakness for the two last-named luxuries) were rendered with a sincerity that was refreshing to witness. A light and excellent breakfast followed, and the bridal party accompanied by many of their guests passed across the river for the morning train which has probably carried them to the Atlantic States. May Heaven preserve and return them soon and safely to the warm hearts which at McGregor will be over ready to give them a welcome.
