Henkes - Gifford marriage - 1909

Wednesday, Nov. 24th, at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Frank Perry, in Monona, Iowa, occurred the marriage of Ruth H. Gifford and Cyrus L. Henkes. Rev. Cheney performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. E. C. Gifford, of Farmersburg, formerly of Elkader, where Ruth was born and raised. The groom is a young farmer of Wagner township. The new couple left for a visit with relatives in Indiana and other points east. On their return they will settle on the groom's farm, where he has a beautiful home prepared.
