Smith - Nichols marriage - 1929

The marriage of Mrs. Bessie Nichols and Will Smith, both of this place, occurred Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the home of the bride's daughter, Mrs. E. M. Rulon, in Cedar Rapids. Rev. J. E. Hawkins, pastor of Trinity M.E. church, officiated. The bride is well known and for some time has been first cook at the Franklin Hotel. The newlyweds went to Chicago on a honeymoon trip, and on their return will make their home on the bridegroom's farm seven miles west of town.
