A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the H. W. Brewer home in Chariton, Iowa, Wednesday, July 10, when Miss Ethel Brewer was united in marriage to Ralph E. Bente of Elkader. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Frederick Nichal. Miss Florence Bente, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Mr. Craig Johnson, of Carroll, Iowa, Intimate friend and roommate of the groom was best man. The wedding march was played by Miss Eloise Brewer, sister of the bride. Ethel Brewer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Brewer of Chariton, Iowa, where she graduated high school in the class of 1921. She then attended I.S.T.C. at Cedar Falls and Parsons College at Fairfield, where she was affiliated with the Elzeirr Society and Dramatic Club. For the past six years she has taught at Woodburn, Chariton and Clarion. Ralph E. Bente is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bente of Elkader, where he attended high school. He entered the State University, where he earned a B.A. degree. Later he attended I.S.T.C. at Cedar Falls and for the past five years has been Principal of the Junior High School at Clarion, Iowa, and is an active worker in the Boy Scouts.
