Lau - Meyer marriage - 1922

At the Evangelical parsonage Monday Rev. Franke united in marriage Miss Mabel Meyer and Mr. George Lau. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mrs. Lena Meyer, was born in Read township and came to Elkader about 16 years ago. The groom is a son of Mrs. Mina Lau, born in Cox Creek township and moved to Elkader in 1910. They were attended by Harry L. Meyer, brother of the bride, and Miss Carrie Lau, sister of the groom. The new couple left on a wedding trip to Moline and Chicago, after which they will go to housekeeping on the Meyer farm south of Elkader.
