The press (Guttenberg Press) reports that Miss Hattie E. Smart, of Lansing, Mich., and Frederick Sullivan, of Valparaiso, Ind., were last week united in marriage at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Frances Smart. The bride is the daughter of the late George H. Smart, formerly County Superintendent of Schools of this county and under Cleveland's second administration postmaster of Guttenberg. Mrs. Sullivan was for a number of years a successful district school teacher in this county and during the latter years was employed by the Singer Sewing Machine Co., by which concern her husband is also engaged.

Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 17 Sept. 1908. Guttenberg columns.
