Miss Vera Gleason, of Elkader, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Gleason of this place, and Mr. Carl Opperman of Davenport were united in marriage last Saturday morning at St. Anthony's church at Davenport at nine o'clock, with Rev. J. J. Opperman, son of Mrs. Mayme Opperman, formerly of Strawberry Point, being the officiating clergyman. The couple departed on a honeymoon trip to Minneapolis to visit relatives and friends, after which they will be at home in Davenport, where they will make their home. The groom is an employee of the C.M. & St.P. railroad at Davenport. The bride is well and favorably known here, where she has lived practically all her life.
