Mr. A. J. Carpenter and Mrs. Kathryn Beamer, of this place, were married at the Congregational manse, McGregor, on Thursday evening, August 14th, 1919, Rev. A. Cutler performing the ceremony. Mr. E. Bergemeyer acted as best man and Mrs. Bergemeyer as matron of honor. A dainty wedding supper was served at the Reynold's hostelry. The company including Mrs. Amy Oakley and Miss Zelma Robbins, sister and cousin of the bride. The couple expect to be at home in Elkader after September 1st. Mr. Carpenter is cashier of the First National Bank, and the bride has lived in Elkader and vicinity for many years.
