Last Wednesday announcements were received here, announcing the marriage of Miss Alice Marie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Deyo, of this place, to Mr. Theodore, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Opperman, of Arlington. The wedding was a quiet one and took place in the German Lutheran Church at Arlington, Tuesday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, Rev. Rembold officiating in the presence of only a few near relatives. They were attended by the groom's sister and brother, Miss Edna and Mr. Michael Opperman. The bride is loved by all and a graduate of our High School with the class of 1914 and has served as an efficient trimmer in the Nelle Carmichael millinery shop. She wore a neat tailored suit of blue wool poplin with fur trimmings and an attractive hat. The groom, formerly of this place, but now of Arlington, ia a hard working young man. They left on the evening train for a visit with relatives at Davenport and other points. They will be at home on the farm of the bride's uncle, G. F. Wheeler, just south of town, now occupied by her father, E. J. Deyo, after November 1st. We unite with their many friends in wishing them a long and happy wedded life.
