Tuesday evening Gustave Graff and Miss Iowa Hempel stole a march on their friends and were quietly married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Hempel. Rev. Franke performed the ceremony in the presence of a few relatives. A dainty wedding supper was served after the ceremony, after which the bride and groom were driven to Monona. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Hempel and has spent her whole life here. The groom is a son of Rev. Graf, of Strawberry Point, and has been assistant treasurer of Clayton county for nearly three years. After a short wedding trip they will occupy the Gossman house on the East Side.
