Oelke - Schmidt marriage - 1926

Miss Annis Schmidt of Garnavillo and Lloyd Oelke of Farmersburg were married at the Lutheran church at Garnavillo on Monday June 21, Rev. William Braun performing the ceremony. The double ring ceremony was used. There were no attendants. Immediately after the ceremony a supper was served to the immediate relatives at the home of the bride's parents. In the evening a shower and dance took place at the Opera House at Farmersburg at which over 400 people were in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Oelke will go to housekeeping in the Fuelling cottage.
