Vorwald - Schlake Marriage - 1932

Guttenberg: The marriage of Miss Fay Schlake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schlake of Dubuque and Mr. Edward Vorwald, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Vorwald, Sr., of Guttenberg, took place at St. Joseph's parsonage at Garnavillo Friday afternoon, the Rev. H. Scharphoff officiating. Miss Alice Vorwald, sister of the groom, and Cletus Steger of Dyersville, friend of the couple, acted as attendants. After the ceremony at the parsonage at Garnavillo the newlyweds returned to Guttenberg and a reception was held in their honor at the home of the groom's parents in Guttenberg, a number of near relatives and friends being in attendance. A delicious wedding dinner was served. Mr. and Mrs. Vorwald are well and favorably known in this community and the best wishes of a host of friends go with them on their journey through life. They will reside on a farm near McGregor.
