Married - At the Catholic church in Elkader, on Tuesday, May 21st, 1878, by Rev. Father Quigley, Mr. John Lawrence Boland to Miss Jane Francis Orr, both of Highland township.

A number of friends were present to witness the ceremony which united the couple named in the above paragraph, and all joined in the declaration that it was well done. The happy pair have the best wishes of a host of friends, who will bid them God-speed in the matrimonial journey. May their united fortunes bring them the richest blessings with unnumbered joys; and while their pathway is carpeted with the choicest flowers, at every annual commemoration of this event may a new and brighter _____ greet the happy couple.
