Thomas Thompsen, local attorney, deserted the ranks of bachelorhood last Saturday afternoon at four-thirty in Des Moines, when he was united in marriage with Frances Preston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Royal E. Draper, of Lamont. The ceremony was performed in the Danish Memorial Lutheran church, which is connected with Grand View college of Des Moines. The Rev. S. D. Rodholm officiated. Only immediate relatives of the bride and groom attended the wedding.

Mrs. Thompsen attended State Teachers college in Cedar Falls and graduated from the Capitol City Commercial college of Des Moines. For the last five years she has been employed in the capitol city with the Yeoman's Life Insurance Co. She is also a member of the Business and Professional Women's club of Des Moines. The groom has been a resident of Elkader since 1928, coming here from Cedar Rapids. He is a graduate of the law school of the State University at Iowa City with the class of 1927. He completed the liberal arts course there in 1921 and taught for some time in the Grand View college in Des Moines before completing his law course. He has been unusually active in American Legion circles. He has served as commander of the local Legion post as well as district commander of the Legion, besides holding various other Legion posts from time to time.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompsen will make their home in Elkader, where they will be at home to their friends after Oct. 1st.
