Marting - Schmitt marriage - 1935

Miss Helen D. Schmitt and Elmer F. Marting of Luana were married at seven o'clock Saturday morning at the Lutheran parsonage in Luana, the Rev. H. P. Kumpf using the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Schmitt of Monona, while the bridegroom is the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marting of near Luana. She is a graduate of the local high school, Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, and has been a successful teacher in the rural schools. Following a honeymoon trip by auto to California and points west, the young couple will be at home on the bridegroom's farm near Luana, after November first.
