Lynas O. Abel of Monona was married to Miss Irene Josephine Nelson at the Big Canoe church in Winneshiek county at three o'clock, Monday afternoon, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. The Rev. T. O. Tolo said the words that made them man and wife.
Mrs. Lorna Abel Bollman of Monona was matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were Lucille Hover and Doris Hovden. James Peterson was best man and the ushers were Arnold Hover and Harold Peterson. Mary Ann Forda and Ronald Lee Bollman were flower bearers. Miss Alice Peterson sang "I Love You Truly."
A reception was held at the bride's home at five o'clock for the immediate relatives, and a shower, which was attended by four hundred, was given the young couple in the evening.
The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Nelson of Quandahl, a charming young lady with many accomplishments. The bridegroom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Abel of Monona, a young man of good character and standing, and for the past twelve years has been foreman and business manager in the Monona Leader office.
After a short honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. Abel will be at home in Monona. All join in wishing them many years of happiness.
