Miss Marie Handke of Guttenberg became the bride of Mr. Edgar Pensel of Colesburg in a lovely ceremony at St. John's American Lutheran church on Wednesday afternoon of last week. The wedding service was read by Rev. W. J. F. Adix, the pastor. Miss Lucille Handke, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and Earl Herzog was best man.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Handke and has lived in this community most of her life. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Pensel of Colesburg. His aunt, Mrs. Kathe Luther of Colburg, Bavaria, Germany, came from her far-off home last week to attend the ceremony. She is the sister of Glen Mueller and will visit here for some time.
After the wedding there was a reception at the home of the bride's parents, followed by a wedding dance later. The young couple left later on a motor trip and will be at home on a farm near Colesburg.
