Miss Ruth, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Leonard, and Gordon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Olson, were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents southeast of town, Wednesday, at high noon in the presence of close friends. The flower girls, Ruth Olson, sister of the bridegroom, and Eva Leonard, sister of the bride, strew roses in the bridal path. The bride's attendant was, Miss Thelma Olson, a sister of the groom. The bridegroom was attended by Alfred Leonard, a brother of the bride. The Rev. Max O. Jahr, pastor of Emanuel's Lutheran church, officiated the single ring ceremony.
Following the ceremony a two course dinner was served. The young couple will be at home with the bridegroom's parents until next spring.
In the evening the parents of the bride and groom gave a dance at the Avalon pavilion in honor of the newlyweds.
(Note: Those listed as attending the wedding ceremony of apparent relationship were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leonard, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Leonard and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Leonard, all of Elkader; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olson and family of Postville; Mrs. Torkel Olson and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Thos.
