On Wednesday morning at ten-thirty o'clock, a quiet wedding took place at St. Paul's Lutheran church at Monona, when Miss Iva Topel, second eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Topel of Monona, became the bride of Donald Henkes, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Henkes of Farmersburg. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Siefkes, pastor of the church. The couple was attended by Viola Topel, sister of the bride, and Kenneth Henkes, cousin of the groom. A wedding dinner was served to the bridal party at the home of the bride's parents. On Wednesday evening, approximately 700 people attended a shower in honor of the young couple at the Farmersburg opera house. Both the bride and groom are held with the highest esteem in their respective communities. They will be at home to their friends on a farm four miles south of Monona.
