Miss Loradelle Petsche, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Petsche of Elkader, became the bride of Ralph E. Hemesath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hemesath of Castalia, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, in St. Joseph's Catholic church, Elkader. The Rev. Greg. Hemesath of Chester, Iowa, uncle of the bridegroom, performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother Elwyn. Miss Alice Blum of Prairie du Chien, Wis., cousin of the bride, acted as maid of honor, and Miss Irma Hemesath of Ossian, cousin of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. Gerald Hemesath of Castalia attended his brother as best man. Usheres were Duwayne Vorwald and Francis Hemesath, cousins of the bride and bridegroom.
Following the ceremony a dinner was served in the St. Joseph's parish hall to 150 guests. After the reception all motored to Garnavillo, where a wedding dance honoring the couple was in progress.
Among those who attended the wedding from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hemesath, Prairie View, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Bart Hemesath, Ossian; Mr. and Mrs. John Hemesath, Ossian; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hemesath, Ossian; John Petsche, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Petsche, all of Monona; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Petsche and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Petsche, of Guttenberg.
