Marriage licenses were issued to three couples from the office of Clerk R. M. Downing during the week ending September 3. One of them was to Clerk Downing's deputy, Wm R. Zwieg.

Couples obtaining licenses to wed were:

Immanuel N. Weber, Elkport, and Luella Meier, Grinnel.
Wm. R. Zwieg and Mayme Mentzel, both of Elkader.
Leon E. Laabs and Constance N. Tennison, both of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.

William V. McGuire and Mary Louise Johnson, both of McGregor.
Hale H. Corlett Jr., Farmersburg, and Marjorie Knudtson, St. Olaf.
Raymond L. Smith, Waverly, and Margaret A. Mortimer, Cedar Falls.
William Fiebig and Dorothy Wallschlaeger, both of Milwaukee, Wis.
