Miss Mary Maxine Lenth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arno Lenth of St. Olaf, became the bride of Howard G. Kuehl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kuehl of Elkader, on Wednesday August 24. The Rev. S. J. Strandjord read the double ring service.
Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Theo. Thorsen played a program of nuptial music. Miss Celia Christensen accompanied the soloist, Gene Kuehl, who sang "Because," "The Lord's Prayer" and "I Love You Truly."
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Miss Bonnie Lee Boots, Elkader, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Merlin Kuehl and Miss Verna Lantz. Don Kuehl served his brother as best man and Merlin Kuehl and Virgil Lenth were the groomsmen. Roger Huckstadt and William Ehrhardt were the ushers. The grandmothers, Mrs. Herman Lenth and Mrs. Bertha Tangeman were in attendance.
A reception was held at the church parlors after the ceremony and a wedding dance was held in the evening at the Prom in Garnavillo.
The couple left that evening for a wedding trip to various points in Minnesota and Nebraska. On their return they will make their home with the bridegroom's parents, where Mr. Kuehl will assist his father on the farm.
