In a pretty double ring ceremony performed at 3 p.m. Sunday August 14, Miss Verna Gross, daughter of Mrs. Sabina Gross, West Union, became the bride of Glen Medberry, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Perry Medberry, Volga. The Rev. George Goedken performed the ceremony in St. Peter's Lutheran church at Eldorado.
The bride's brother, Arthur Gross, gave her in marriage. Miss Arlene Medberry, the bridegroom's sister, was maid of honor. Miss Anita Steffen and Miss Darlene Vagts were bridesmaids. Karen Grafenberg was flower girl. Donald Koester, nephew of the bride, attended the bridegroom as best man, and the groomsmen were Robert Longmuir and Kenneth Medberry. Henry Gross and Harold Dennler completed the wedding party as ushers.
Following the ceremony a reception for 300 guests was held in the church parlors. Later, the couple left on a wedding trip to the west coast.
After Sept. 1 they will be at home on the Medberry farm five miles north of Volga.
The bride was graduated from West Union high school and attended college in Cedar Rapids. She has been employed in the First National bank in West Union. The husband is a graduate of the Volga high school and is engaged in farming with his father.
