Mr. and Mrs. A. Nielsen arrived here last Friday evening from Cedar Falls for a visit at the home of Mrs. Nielsen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Steen. They were married at Waverly, March 8th, and kept their wedding announcement a secret until they arrived here.
The bride, Miss Florence Steen, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Steen of Elkader and has grown to womanhood in this community. She graduated from the Elkader High School with the class of 1919 and taught school in this county for several years. Last fall she accepted a position as teacher of the 5th and 6th grades at the Dunkerton Consolidated Schools and will continue to teach there till the end of the school year.
The groom is one of Cedar Fall's best young men and is held in high esteem among his fellow citizens. He is employed with an automobile agency at Cedar Falls.
A miscellaneous shower was tendered the young couple at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steen, Saturday evening, by their relatives, friends and neighbors. The evening was spent in various games and music. A splendid luncheon was served by Mrs. Steen after which the guests departed.
Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen returned to Cedar Falls Sunday afternoon and after May 20th, 1924, will be at home at Cedar Falls, Iowa, where their many friends wish them a long and happy journey throughout life.
Elkader Register, Thur., 24 Apr. 1924.
