Double Wedding At Littleport.
On Tuesday, March 27th, 1883, at the Catholic church, in Littleport, occurred a very pleasant and happy affair, being the marriage of Mr. P. Enright to Miss Nettie Sullivan, and also that of Mr. M. F. Liddy to Miss Anna Sullivan.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Fogarty in his usual happy manner, in the presence of a number of their friends and relatives of the high contracting parties. After the ceremony they repaired to the residence of the brides' mother where many were congregated to tender their heartiest congratulations. A dinner was also served here, to which all did ample justice, this was followed by dancing which was kept up till morning.
All the parties are well known in Littleport, and none have aught but the best wishes for them. The Register desires to contribute in the way of a wish for unbounded happiness and prosperity during their future life.
Mr. and Mrs. P. Enright have taken up their residence in Dubuque, while Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Liddy will remain in Littleport.
(There followed a very long list of presents given both newlywed couples.)
Note: Both sets of initials, M. A. and M. F., were used for Mr. Liddy in the article. Later, in the presents section it said, "The following is a list of the presents received by Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Liddy.
