The event was a surprise to the entire community, but as might be expected, called together a large number of friends and acquaintances of the bride and groom. The ceremony was performed at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huempel, Sr., at Giard, by Rev. Charles Schneider, who delivered a very impressive ceremony to the young people.
After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served under the direction of Mrs. Charles Huempel, whose well known ability in the culinary line is a guarantee that the feast was all that could be desired.
The groom is well known in this county and is highly respected for his many excellent qualities. Of late he has been and located near Columbia, D.T., where he has a large tract of land.
The bride is the second eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huempel, Sr., and is known and admired for her many lady-like virtues. They will have the best wishes of all for a long and happy wedded life.
(There followed a long list of presents received.)
