Cook-Hunt, marriage 1871

COOK, HUNT

Married at Elkader, October 12th, 1871, at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hon. B.T. Hunt, by Rev. Mr. Heatwood, Capt G.W. Cook, and Miss M.M. Hunt, all of Elkader.

Having known the above parties for many years, we cannot pass over this most important event in their life in a light manner. The Capt. is a whole-souled, true hearted man, and Miss Hunt is one of the most amiable and gifted ladies of our acquaintance. There are none but will wish her unalleyed joy and happiness in the new sphere as wife she is about to occupy, and we heartily join in that wish, may the brightest anticipations of the bride and bridegroom be realized.

Mr. cook and lady left soon after the nuptial ceremonies for McGregor, from whence they go to Council Bluffs. A joyous trip and a safe return to both!
