Martin-Nichols, marriage 1868

MARTIN, NICHOLS, BENSON

Married at the residence of Moses Benson, in Elkader, on Saturday evening, January 17th, 1868, by S. Powell, Justice of the Peace, Mr. John Martin to Mrs. Sarah Nichols -all of Clayton County, Iowa.

It is not well for man to be alone. So thought Adam & Eve, and so thought our friend John. Now we extend to him and the bride our warmest congratulations. May theirs be a life of joy and happiness, and as numerous as the Martins are on the return of spring, so may the names of Martin be as the sands on the sea shore.
